But, a lot of people like to schedule their status updates ahead of time so they don't have to spend all day long on Facebook promoting their posts. How can you schedule your updates AND get the links to your blog posts seen by the most people on Facebook? You can't add a comment to a status update that hasn't gone 'live' yet, can you?
The answer is...YES!!
While toying around with Facebook one day I discovered this little trick. I thought other people knew about it, but after a discussion in one of my Facebook blogging groups I realized that I had stumbled upon something awesome that not many people were aware of. Now, I'm sharing this knowledge with you!
First, schedule a status update.
To schedule a status update on Facebook, write your update, then click the little clock in the bottom left corner. Choose the date and time you want your status update to go "live". Click "schedule".
Second, go to your Activity Log.
After you schedule your status update, a box like this will pop up. Click "View Activity Log".
If you want to see an update you've already scheduled, or you accidentally clicked "Close", you can access your Activity Log from the top of your "Posts" list.
Third, click on the TIME your post is scheduled to go live.
Have you ever needed the URL of a tweet when entering a giveaway, so you clicked on the time of the tweet to get it? It's the same idea. Click on the time the post is scheduled to go live and it will bring up your post AND a comment box!
Fourth, add your comment.
Now you can add a comment to your scheduled status update! Tricky tricky, right?!
