Hi! It's Jilly. Prepare to gasp. We have NOT seen FROZEN yet! See, I knew you would gasp! We never made it to the theater when it was there, and now the DVD comes out March 18th, so I figure we'll just buy it when it comes out.
Even though they haven't seen the movie yet, my kids love Frozen. They hear all about it from their friends, watch video clips on YouTube, and get excited whenever the songs pop up on my Pandora stations. So, when I was at Wal-Mart the other day I thought I'd check out the "Frozen" toy section and see what they had.
I found these darling dolls, and these cute little figures that will be perfect for tossing in the girls' Easter baskets.
Then, when I was on my way over to the grocery side of the store, I spotted the books and CDs. I grabbed a copy of the FROZEN soundtrack and a junior novel that tells the story of Frozen.
I like to have books on hand that pique my kids' interest so they will READ! My son loves to read, but the girls...not as much. It's like pulling teeth sometimes! Ahem, anyway...
I had Frozen on the brain, so when I was cruising the grocery aisles I grabbed stuff to "build a snowman" using Eggo Waffles!
FYI- They have $5 coupons off the FROZEN DVD on specially marked 24-count packages of Eggos! AND, on March 18th when the FROZEN DVD comes out Wal-Mart is dropping the price from $16.96 to $14.96! So, yeah, that's pretty awesome. Now, let's build our snowman!
Ingredients:
Eggo Frozen Waffles & Eggo Mini-Waffles (I wanted the snowmen to have a smaller middle like Olaf.)
Cream Cheese
Dried fruit (raisins, blueberries, cherries, cranberries, etc)
Pretzel Sticks
Chocolate Chips
The picture is pretty self-explanatory. Toast the waffles. Spread cream cheese on 'em. Decorate with dried fruit and chocolate chips. Add pretzel stick arms. Voila!
The kids had such a great time putting them together! When I talked to their teacher that afternoon she said they excitedly told her all about building snowmen for breakfast. And, the snowmen are portable since they aren't smothered in syrup, so you can eat them at the bus stop.
These little snowmen would be a great after school snack or activity/treat for a FROZEN party, too. I know your kids will love making them just like mine did!
