While listening to the Frozen soundtrack on repeat (because, you know, I have kids), I starting thinking of some alternate lyrics to "Let It Go". I texted some of them to my friend and she thought I should share them. So, I rewrote the lyrics to the whole song and recorded it this morning.
A couple of disclaimers:
#1- I am not Idina Menzel. I know this. I am a classically trained singer, not a Broadway belter. I usually sing high soprano, so this song is in a super weird key for me. I'm just sayin'...
#2- I uploaded this just for fun, not to infringe on Disney's rights or anything like that.
#3- Hitting "upload" and "publish" on this is a huge deal to me, because I am a total chicken when it comes to solo singing, especially singing a song that's out of my comfort zone. So, please be kind and don't hate on my 'technique' or whatever in the comments section. I'm just a Mom having some fun and trying to stay sane in this crazy weather.
The snow blows white outside the apartment tonight, not a
human to be seen.
A tower of isolation, and I think I’m gonna scream.
The wind is howling like these bored kids inside.
Can’t keep them in, but it’s cold outside.
Can’t look out there, don’t want to see
Another snowflake falling down on me.
Can’t feel my fingers anymore. I want to ROAR…
No more snow, no more snow. Can’t handle it anymore!
No more snow. No more snow. Can’t open up my door.
I don’t care if it wants to rain. Let the storm rage on.
The Spring never bothered me anyway.
It’s funny how a heat wave helps everything to thaw.
Then the temperature drops and we’re in the middle of a
squall.
It’s time to see what I can do. Check the price on flights
to Timbuktu.
It’s just not right. I need to breathe. Where’s Spring?!
No more snow. No more snow. Can’t handle it anymore.
No more snow. No more snow. I want to open up my door.
I don't care if it's going to rain. Let the storm rage on.
The snowflakes flurry through the air onto the ground.
And they are spiraling in frozen fractals all around.
The wind is blowing and it’s like an icy blast.
I’m getting out of here. I want to see some grass!!
No more snow, no more snow. Can’t handle it anymore.
No more snow, no more snow. I want to open up my door.
Here I stand in the light of day. Let the SUN shine on!
The Spring never bothered me anyway.
I hope you liked it! Raise your hand if you're ready for Spring to finally show it's sunny face!!
