First off, the kids are FINALLY out of school! Seriously. New York is crazy. So, it's a good thing that school is over. Although, the kids have been kind of...oh what's the word...attitude-y lately? Aye yie yie. If this is what it's like when they're nine, I don't know if we're going to make it through the teenage years.
We are planning some fun stuff for the summer. I want to take a few day trips to museums, parks, zoos, etc. We are also trying to plan a trip to Oregon to visit the in-laws. It's just soooo expensive! Like, it's crazy. It's expensive to fly, and it's a loooong drive if you decide to "go that route" (I crack myself up). We're still trying to figure all the stuff out.
I'm having the kids do "school" every morning. They have to read for 30 minutes, do a journal entry, some math, and some spelling words. The spelling words are taken from the high frequency word lists for third and fourth grade. I want to make sure they have all those words and their multiplication facts DOWN when school starts again in the Fall.
Oh, and the kids finished their lacrosse season. Yes, all three of them played on the same team. It was like we were living and breathing lacrosse for two months! They had games or practices 3-4 times a week! I think Michael and Emma enjoyed it. Katelynn...not so much. And she was very vocal about it. Not in a rude way, but just saying things, like, "Yeah, lacrosse isn't my favorite sport to play. I don't think I'll do that again." Hey, it's great to try things and see what you do and do not like. Btw, lacrosse is kind of a crazy sport. A bunch of little kids hitting each other with sticks?! Yikes!
The kiddos turned NINE! Can't believe I have three nine-year olds. Nope. Not possible. I threw them a Harry Potter birthday party, which I will be telling you all about in the next few weeks (Here's a peek at the invitations and Sorting Hat).
Also, Hubby and I had our TWELVE year anniversary! Wild that it's been that long since we got married. We've been through a lot together over the years, but we can still make each other laugh every day. Sounds good to me! Not sure how I lucked out to get my husband, but I'm sure glad I did! Heavenly Father was looking out for me!
What else? Hmm... Oh! I finished my semester of school, so now all I have to do is apply for graduation! So exciting! I hope everything works out well with my credits transferring. It will be nice to finally say that I have a degree! It's been a looooong time coming!
Well, it was nice to catch up with you! Visit my buddy Jenna's blog, where I'm linking up my tl;dr with some other great bloggers! Although, I guess my "too long; didn't read" turned out to be pretty long. Ha ha! Guess I'm a chatterbox!
