The kids are so funny. For the last couple years they have come up with themed costumes for our whole family. Last year we were all characters from The Princess Bride-- Emma was Princess Buttercup, Katelynn was Inigo Montoya, Michael was the Dread Pirate Roberts/Westley, Hubby was Viccini, and I was Valerie, Miracle Max's wife. I'm not a witch, I'm your wife! And I'm not sure I want to be that anymore!
This year the kids wanted to do a Harry Potter theme. Surprise, surprise after their birthday party. I guess it's just "The Year of Harry" at our house. Ha ha!
For the kids' costumes I used my friend Polly's Super Fast and Easy DIY Harry Potter Robe tutorial. She's right...it was super fast and easy! I whipped out all three robes in a couple hours. It took me that long because I only pull out my sewing machine a couple times a year, so I was a bit rusty. Polly also has an awesome Harry Potter House Scarf tutorial, or you can buy one in her Etsy shop.
Michael dressed up as...DRACO MALFOY.

The kids loved their costumes and they got so many compliments on them. They had Hubby dress as a Death Eater and wanted me to dress up as Delores Umbridge. I don't know if I should be worried or not, considering Umbridge is probably the most hated character in the whole series. Is that the way they see me as their teacher?! I. Must. Have. Order!
